Knowledge & Enjoyment: Organic Matcha in Perfection

What is ceremonial organic Matcha?

Ceremonial Matcha is the highest quality grade of Matcha—sourced from the finest tea leaves of the first harvest, grown in shaded cultivation. Our Matcha is not only ceremonial but also 100% organically certified. This means: no pesticides, no chemicals—just pure nature. Its vibrant green color and rich, full-bodied flavor are revealed in their purest form.

What are the health benefits of Matcha?

Organic Matcha is rich in antioxidants, especially catechins, which help strengthen the immune system. It enhances focus and concentration, provides long-lasting energy without nervousness, and promotes relaxation thanks to L-theanine. With MatchaTime, you not only enjoy an intense flavor experience but also do something good for your body.

What is the philosophy of MatchaTime?

At MatchaTime, we believe in more than just tea. We believe in the ritual, the moment of calm, and the deep connection to the centuries-old Japanese tea culture.

Our organic Matcha comes from a small, certified tea garden in Japan, where each plant is cultivated with care and respect. We work directly with local farmers to ensure the highest quality, fair working conditions, and sustainable farming methods.

MatchaTime stands for authenticity, sustainability, purity, and the luxury of taking time for yourself – with a product that not only tastes great but is also good for the environment.

How is MatchaTime’s Matcha different?

Not all Matcha is the same – and that makes the difference! MatchaTime offers the highest ceremonial quality that you can see, smell, and taste. Our Matcha comes from the finest tea gardens in Japan, carefully selected from young, shade-grown tea leaves and traditionally ground on granite stone mills into an ultra-fine powder.

The result? Vibrant green, fresh Matcha with a silky texture, natural sweetness, and maximum nutrients – completely free from bitterness and any additives.

What our Customers Say

  • Step 1: Add Warm Water

Pour approximately 50 ml of warm water (max. 80°C) into the bowl. If you have a temperature-controlled kettle, set it to 70–80°C. If not, bring the water to a boil and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Water that is too hot can alter the delicate flavor of Matcha and destroy essential nutrients. With the right temperature, you’ll enjoy a pleasantly mild, slightly sweet aroma without any bitterness.

  • Step 2: Add Matcha to the Bowl

Take 1 teaspoon (approx. 1–2 g) of Matcha powder and place it in a bowl or a traditional Matcha bowl (Chawan). High-quality Matcha is very finely ground and may naturally form small clumps – but don’t worry, they will dissolve once whisked!

  • Step 3: Whisk with the Bamboo Whisk

Now it gets exciting! Take a bamboo whisk (Chasen) and start whisking the Matcha with quick, energetic movements. The best technique: Move the whisk back and forth in a W- or M-shape, rather than in circular motions. This incorporates air into the mixture, creating a smooth, creamy foam. After about 15 seconds, you should see a uniform, frothy surface—the perfect sign of well-prepared Matcha!

  • Step 4: Add Milk or Water

Now you can decide how you’d like to enjoy your Matcha. For a classic version, simply add a bit more warm water. If you prefer a creamier texture, opt for warm milk or a plant-based milk alternative (such as oat, almond, or soy milk) – perfect for a Matcha Latte! Slowly pour the liquid into the bowl and gently stir to ensure everything blends smoothly.
